Coffee Date {#67}

Creative Counselor: Let's have a coffee date

What happened to the summer?  I blinked and it was gone.  We had an unusually long winter, an incredibly rainy spring that just wouldn’t end, and now after a summer without a single day over 100 degrees, it appears that fall is moving in.  I’m feeling totally cheated.

But I do love fall clothes, so I guess I’ll just embrace my layers and booties and hope for our usual long and beautiful fall season.

If we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that J is doing amazing in kindergarten.  Holding him a year may have been the best decision we’ve ever made regarding his education.  He’s collected, controlled and so much more mature that he was last year.  We get glowing reports every day from his teacher, and he has yet to complain about going to school in the morning, even though his days and weeks are both longer than they have ever been.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that somehow Baby J is turning 2 next week!  Seriously, I can’t quite figure out how that happened.  Now that kid…that kid is a hoot.  He is my little class clown.  He has a great sense of humor and loves to make people laugh.  And he is so so so incredibly sweet.  He thinks he can talk and have conversations like the big kids and is probably the most affectionate of my three kids.  I love feeling his little arms wrap around my neck in one of his many bear hugs, and he is still generous in doling out kisses.  I hope that does end — at least towards his family 🙂

If we were having coffee, I wouldn’t have a lot more to report actually.  It’s been a fairly quiet week.  The kids have been doing great at school, Albert and I have been doing our thing, and we’re all plugging along just fine.

Albert and I did find a new TV show to watch, though — Mr. Robot.  It’s a really intriguing show, but I’m trying not to get too obsessed.  I have a lot of deadlines coming up in the next few weeks so I need some evening hours to sew.  Hoping I haven’t overextended myself!

If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?

    My son turns 2 on Monday! I love his spontaneous kisses and cuddles. My daughter starts kindergarten next week and I go back to work, teaching kindergarten next week as well. I haven’t gotten as much sewing done as I was hoping this summer as I ran over a pin on my serge and it’s taken over 3weeks to get the blade sharpened 😦
