Coffee Date Friday {#19}

Come join me for a coffee date!

If we were having coffee today, I would tell you that I feel like I bit off more than I could chew this week.  I tested a new pattern, and it had an unreasonably (in my opinion) fast turnaround.  That meant a couple of really late nights to finish it.  Though part of that is my own fault — I didn’t start working until around 9:30pm and then stayed up way too late.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I still don’t feel recovered from our California trip.  I slept very poorly while we were away (due to the fact that Baby J slept poorly in the pack-n-play) and I haven’t been going to bed early enough since we got home.  I need to finish a dress tonight, but hopefully it won’t take long and then I can get to bed early, or at least at a reasonable time, tonight and tomorrow.

And then I’d also tell you about the reason I need to finish my dress — I’m taking N to the ballet on Sunday!  The Kansas City Ballet is doing Cinderella, and I knew it would be perfect for my princess-loving girl.  And the timing is great since she turns three next week.  We’re going with her best friend from school, Livvy, and Livvy’s mom and sister.  It should be pretty adorable.

If we were having coffee, I would admit to you that I’m not a huge fan of the ballet  I’ve been to several — one of my law school roommates was a huge ballet fan and would drag me to at least one or two a year — and I think I can honestly say that I’ve never NOT fallen asleep during the ballet.  I don’t particularly dislike it, but I find the music to be so relaxing that it’s almost impossible to keep my eyes open.  It’s the same reason I fall asleep at the symphony.

And then you would realize that I’m not particularly “cultured”!  I actually really enjoy theater — musicals, operas and stage plays.  I was a thespian all through high school and college and have a great appreciation for that kind of performance.  Particularly a really good comedy.  I’ve done both drama and comedy and while drama is more “dramatic,” I have a huge respect for comedic actors — that s*%& is HARD!

Huh, well that was a random tangent!

If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?
