Hey there! Good to see you for our coffee date!
If we were having coffee this morning, I would probably spend some time lamenting that Baby J is apparently in the long, arduous process of cutting his first tooth. He’s just a drooling, slobbering, chewing-on-his-hands, sleeping-poorly mess right now. The poor little guy can’t stop chewing on whatever is available, usually himself. Unfortunately, none of my kids have been quick teethers — they spend copious amounts of blood, sweat and tears … and drool … for each and every tooth. (And if you told me that your kids were ones who just magically woke up one morning with teeth, I’d probably have to restrain myself from slapping you 🙂 ). Baby J started showing signs of serious teething right around his 4-month birthday and the first might not break the skin until he’s five months. Oy.
And then I would probably marvel that he’s old enough now to be cutting teeth! Ahhh, where is the time going?
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that my eighth wedding anniversary was earlier this week! It was actually on Tuesday, and since it was during the week, we didn’t really do anything to celebrate on the day. We do, however, have a babysitter for tomorrow night! With three very small children at home, we don’t really get out much. Even tomorrow, we won’t go anywhere until after I get Baby J to bed and leave the sitter to put just J and N to bed. It’s still up in the air what we’re doing, though I’m sure food and drinks will be involved 🙂
If we were chatting over coffee, I would tell you that earlier this week I noticed that the black work pants I bought after going back to work (since nothing fit) are decidedly looser than they were even 2 weeks ago. And my waist is noticeably thinner! In fact, there was enough of a difference in my pants that I took my measurements the other night and I’ve lost a solid inch off each and every one (except my low bust, where I’ve lost almost 2). Then I just decided to jump on the scale this morning and it read 10 pounds less than it did 2 weeks ago! I was kind of shocked. In a good way, of course! Gotta love the breastfeeding calorie burn!
Know what this is?
This, my friends, is an almost flat belly! Yes, my waist is still pretty thick and yes there are still many, many planks in my future, but it’s a heckuva lot better than even 2 weeks ago. At least no one should be asking me when the baby’s due 🙂
If we were having coffee, I’d probably complain about having to make my quarterly tax payment earlier this week. Tax day always puts me in a bad mood. And to add insult to injury, it was timesheet day too. No wonder I wasn’t motivated to do anything that day!
If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?
