Giveaway Week!

It’s Giveaway Day (Week) at Sew Mama Sew! I’ve never done a giveaway before, but it always seemed like fun, so I decided what the hey? I’ve got plenty of stuff to give away, so why not give some of it to you fine folks?

So yes, I realize that I am WAAAY late to this party! The link to post giveaways opened at 6 am PST this morning, and it’s now, what, 7 pm PST? Sorry about that. I’ll blame it on my kids — after all I have to wait until they’re in bed at night to accomplish…well, pretty much anything!

But down to business. I will be giving away two, count them two, prizes to two lucky commenters!

The first winner will receive this:

Creative Counselor: Giveaway Day

Modkids Penelope pattern and 1 yard City Weekend fabric in cotton interlock.

This is one yard (58″ width) of this wonderfully soft cotton interlock knit from Liesl Gibson of Oliver + S’s very first collection for Moda, City Weekend, as well as the Penelope pattern from Modkid. For a better view:

A second winner will receive one quarter yard (either a quarter-yard cut or a fat quarter) from each of these six vintage Christmas fabrics:

Creative Counselor: Giveaway Day

1/4 of each of these 6 vintage Christmas fabrics

Each will be cut from a fabric in my vintage stash. These all came from my mom’s fabric stash and are about 20-25 years old.

The details:

  • I cannot ship internationally, sorry! ** Edit: I just realized that I linked up to the wrong section of the Sew Mama Sew post for US-only shipping. So, I will change that this time. I will ship internationally to the winners!
  • Giveaway will remain open until 5:00 pm PST on Friday, December 7, 2012.
  • I will select a winner by random number generator by December 9, 2012.

How to enter:

Leave a comment (that’s it!) telling me your favorite Christmas song. Be sure to leave an email in your comment so I can email you if you win. If you want to start following my blog, that would be awesome, but by no means required!

I’ll start! My favorite non-traditional Christmas song is I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas (love that precocious little girl) and my favorite traditional Christmas song is undoubtedly Carol of the Bells. How about you?

And be sure to head on over to Sew Mama Sew for more great giveaways!

The orange fabric reminds me of a dress my mom had and which I took apart to make into a top. One of the first projects I did as a teenager. πŸ™‚ Okay, my favorite Christmas song is the one about the 3 ships come sailing in.

  2. Linda

I love many of the Christmas songs, but some of my favs are Joy To The World, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, and Merry Christmas Darling by the Carpenters. Thanks for the chance to win.

  3. Amber

I love modkids patterns, but haven’t sewn with knits. I’d love to try my hand at that! My favorite song may be Christmas Day by Dido. There are so many to choose from!

Joni Mitchell sings a song..”It’s comin’ on Christmas. They’re cutting down trees. They’re puttin’ up reindeer, singing songs of joy and peace. Oh, I wish I had a river, I could skate away on.”
    Beautiful and sad song.

My favourite song is Mariah Carey ‘All I want for Christmas’ – I know it’s awful really but I can’t help myself, it always makes me smile!!

Anything sung by Nat King Cole puts me in the Christmas mood, but I really like Silver Bells, Silent Night and the Christmas Song. Well, and Winter Wonderland. Man, I love Christmas songs. And I don’t know if this counts, but also the Baby It’s Cold Outside song, too!

My favourites are three Australian carols. They are Carols of the Birds, Three Drovers and Christmas Day. Here is a site with the words:
And here are the videos of them being performed. – the first song is Carol of the Birds, this is the best version I could find the others are too slow. – Christmas Day – Three Drovers, not the most professional but definitely the most Australian.
