It’s hard to believe that May is almost over! But that means that we’ve had a month to identify holes in the handmade wardrobe, and now it’s time to fill them!
For those new to this space, Back to Basics is a low-key sew along that I sponsor during the month of June to focus on making the “boring basics” that we all need but often put off in favor of the latest shiny new fabric or pattern. After we spend all of May say, “gosh, I really wish I had a handmade X,” June is officially the month I’ve set aside to fill those holes!
I’m doing things a little differently this year. First, and perhaps most importantly, I’ve recruited a co-host! The amazing Mac from Harper + Lu has graciously agreed to be my partner in crime for Back to Basics this month, so she’ll be sharing her “basic” makes on her blog as well.
Second, as you may have noticed, we’ve decided to run the sew along for 2 weeks this year instead of one. And finally, I’ve actually lined up a couple of freebies! Once June 4 hits, I will open a linky party for you to upload links to your makes, and at the end of the 2 weeks, there will be a prize for a randomly-selected winner.
So brush off those basic patterns, pull out the solid fabric (or stripes or dots … basics can mean different things to different people!) and come join Mac and I starting June 4!
