Coffee Date Friday

Coffee Date {#46}

Creative Counselor: Let's have a coffee date

If we were having coffee today I would tell you that we had a lovely family Christmas yesterday with my family. My brother and his wife are here from Florida for the weekend (wedding + honeymoon = no $ or time off, hence the weekend trip), so we got them last night. It was nice to have time to sit and talk together and the kids love playing with them.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that we had our first snow of the season on Thursday which closed school and cancelled the kids’ school Christmas play. We were pretty disappointed since they’ve been working soooo hard on their play, and the snow wasn’t even that bad. But I understand that many people have to drive much farther than we do and the show was rescheduled for after the spring semester starts in January.

I did at least manage to take advantage of the snow day to get my new iPhone since my old one goes back to the firm when I leave on Dec. 31. I am now the proud owner of my very own iPhone 6!

If we were having coffee I’d tell you that I’m starting to get all the “we’re turning off your IT privileges” and “give us your firm credit card back” notices now. This job move seems real now! Only 10 days left and then it’s onward and upward!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my mom and I are taking N to the Nutcracker ballet today. I took her to Cinderella for her birthday in May and she loved it! She’s only 3, but sat through the whole thing, completely enraptured. I got her a pretty, sparkly pink dress for the ballet and she’s already wearing it!

If we were having coffee today, I’d tell you to start looking for my own Top 5 posts starting next week. Seemed like a good way to process my own 2014 reflections and 2015 goals that I mentioned last week. Besides, I love Top 5 round ups!

Wishing a very merry Christmas to all those who celebrate it!

If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?

  1. I’d tell you that it’s been an interesting week as the imminent arrival almost put in an appearance on Monday. Fortunately labour stopped and baby is behaving again. Bit of a scare as I’m only 32 weeks. I’d tell you that I’m really looking forward to my sisters and their families descending for the week to celebrate Christmas with us, can’t wait to see all the kids playing together. I’ve given in this year and I’m letting my mum do the cooking – I think I’m better keeping my feet up and resting this year! Have a lovely Christmas!
