Oy, it’s been a busy week. So glad to finally be able to sit down to coffee with you!
If we were having coffee today, I’d tell you about the first almost-half of my Whole30 month. Overall it’s been really good. We’re eating really well, trying tons of new recipes and generally having really wholesome, tasty food. As an added bonus, I have definitely been shedding weight — my jeans are fitting much looser and the other day my neighbor (who I’ve been a few neighborhood events with but am not close friends with) complimented me on how I’m looking in my workout gear! (Female neighbor — no weirdness).
But I’d also tell you that this last week has been rough. Baby J and I both came down with a mild stomach bug on Tuesday, which means I’ve been wanting simple comfort foods this week. For me that generally means bread and cheese. Can I tell you how unappetizing Paleo Pad Thai with spaghetti squash sounds when all you want to eat is a simple cheese quesadilla? I’ve been eating a lot of scrambled eggs with avocado instead. Luckily we both seem to be on the mend, so hopefully the carnitas in butter lettuce shells on tonight’s menu will sit better.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that work has still been crazy busy this week. I’m getting a little bit of a reprieve today, but next week should be busy too. That’s actually a good thing, though — I’m much more productive when I’m busy.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m thinking of taking part in Cherie and Meg‘s Happy Homemade Sew Along next week. It’s been a while since I made something for one of my kids (other than wedding outfits), and a simple kid sewing projects sounds pretty nice right now. Since I’ve been going to bed at 9pm every night this week I still haven’t finished my Archer, but a small hoodie detour shouldn’t set me too far off track. I’m thinking I’ll make a hoodie for J. I bought some great helicopter Echino fabric a while back but then J decided that all things must be blue so I never used it. He’s on a green kick right now so this might be my opportunity to use this awesome (and expensive!) fabric.
If we were having coffee today, I would tell you that Albert is so close to the next stage of his business venture! As in, close enough that by this time next week I should be reporting that they have a signed lease and build out has begun! That would take a huge load off this wifey 🙂
And finally, if we were having coffee, I’d say let’s finish up fast and go for a walk because it is a beautiful day!
If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?
